Andreas Karl studied Visual Communication and Arts in Wuerzburg/Germany. Being a freelance illustrator for publishers and children’s books in the first years Andreas got more and more focussed on logos and brands. From 1991 he worked as a Creative Director and Senior Designer in brand agencies such as FCB/Design, Syndicate Brand & Corporate Design and Knut Hartmann Designteam. In 2001 he founded his own studio in Frankfurt named KARL DESIGN – MARKEN FÜR MORGEN. Three years later he moved to Vienna/Austria.
Over all those years dozens of Andreas Karl’s designs have won first prizes and international design awards. He was final winner in 1996’s »Graphic Ecu Competition« in Paris, the first open and international design competition for the European currency. Andreas Karl is a fervent fighter for human rights, created numerous non profit posters and symbols against war and for the saving of animals and nature. He is a supporting member in a number of nonprofit organizations and is jury member in design contests in Europe and abroad.
